Jakarta, 18 December 2017Indonesia Young Fashion Designer Competition (IYFDC), presented by Indonesia Fashion Week is a competition for young designers of Indonesia.The event aims to seek new talents who are not only creative and innovative but also creative in the business sense.

Tokopedia, one of the online shopping centers in Indonesia, with its marketplace business
model, allows any individual, small shop and brand to open and manage an online shop.
Offering millions of products, among which are fashion and accessories, Tokopedia is
constantly supporting the growth of the creative industry in Indonesia, one of which is
Indonesia Fashion Week (IFW) 2018.

The mission of Tokopedia is to bring about economic equality digitally. Tokopedia wants to empower any individual to start and develop a business without having to move to a bigger city, while at the same time ensuring that many can obtain products with the same quality as those sold in big cities.

That is why Tokopedia hopes that the creations produced by the local designers can reach
more Indonesians through its digital platform and together, they can make their dreams
come true, starting from Tokopedia.

As many as 29 participants entering the semifinals have been chosen from a total of 205
participants who have registered for the IYFDC 2018 on 5 December 2017. They are
required to come to Jakarta to present their creations in the second phase of judging.

The panel of judges consisting of Harry Ibrahim, Misan Kopaka and Ai Syarief, is today making their selections by paying attention to the details and the criteria such as the concept used to create the ready to wear clothes, alignment to the Cultural Identity theme, innovative design, application of the cultural values and local heritage as well as the wearable and saleable qualities of their designs.
