Four make-up looks by Wardah, eight fashion designers, and a line-up of musicians, help make “YOUniverse: Celebration of Colors” fashion show a spectacle to remember.
Jakarta, 3 February 2017 – Based on the premise that fashion and beauty are two intertwined industries, Wardah once again supports Indonesia Fashion Week as its Official Makeup and Hair Do Partner. Tonight, Wardah has prepared four of its latest makeup looks to complement the collections by Indonesian fashion designers on the “YOUniverse: Celebration of Colors” runway.
“Wardah is once again Official Makeup and Hair Do Partner at Indonesia Fashion Week 2017. This is one of Wardah’s commitments to support the Indonesian Fashion Industry. We are pleased to present four of Wardah’s newest makeup looks on the theme YOUniverse, to complement collections by eight Indonesian fashion designers, both for modest wear and modern wear,” said Salman Subakat, Sales Director at Wardah.
Following the theme, “YOUniverse: Celebration of Colors”, Wardah’s four makeup looks are: Genuine, Faithful, Brave, dan Serene. Focusing on the eyes and lips, these makeup looks represent the Indonesian woman in all her uniqueness. Indonesian women are invited to play with and explore makeup colors and to express their individuality without boundaries.
Collections by Eight Indonesian Fashion Designers
Wardah further contributes to the Indonesian fashion world by fully supporting Indonesian fashion designers on all fronts. For IFW 2017, Wardah has invited eight Indonesian designers to show their collections on the “YOUniverse: Celebration of Colors” runway.
These designers are Zaskia Sungkar, Barli Asmara, Dian Pelangi, Ria Miranda, Mel Ahyar for HAPPA, Malik Moestaram, Norma Hauri, and Kursien Karzai. Each of them has chosen one Wardah makeup look to complement their respective collections.
● Zaskia Sungkar and her ‘Kilau’ collection, with Brave makeup look.
● Barli Asmara and ‘Black Orchid Fervor’, with Faithful makeup look.
● Dian Pelangi with ‘Originality is a by Product of Sincerity’ and Genuine makeup look.

“On behalf of my fashion designer colleagues, I wish to convey our appreciation for Wardah’s support of the Indonesian fashion industry, which helps us to continue creating inspirational and original works. We hope that Wardah will continue to support the fashion world for years to come,” said Barli Asmara.
Positive Collaboration of Beauty, Fashion, and Celebrity
To Wardah, beauty and fashion are industries that support and complement one another. This collaboration becomes even more complete with the support of celebrities. It’s true that celebrity has always been closely related to these two industries, and this closeness has benefited the industries through, for instance, introducing works by makeup artists and fashion designer to a wider audience, which in turn helps the development of the beauty and fashion industry.
At IFW 2017, ‘When Beauty & Fashion Meets Music’ is a concept that puts together a fashion show and music concert by Vidi Aldiano and Maliq & d’Essentials. Support from these artists will hopefully allow IFW2017, and especially, Wardah’s fashion show “YOUniverse: Celebration of Colors” to attract a wider audience.
“This is my first time working with Wardah, and I’m grateful to Wardah for the opportunity to be at IFW 2017. Especially, in addition to fashion, Wardah is also known for its support of the Indonesian music industry. We hope that the performances can help to attract audience’s attention and make the atmosphere here more festive,” said Vidi Aldiano.
